2026 H2O Hero Award at the ❤️Miami Beach Cupid Splash❤️

We Were Honored at the 2026 Miami Beach Cupid Splash — and the Bay Raised $78,249!

What a day to love Biscayne Bay.

On Sunday, February 15th, our team waded into the Atlantic at Collins Park Beach in South Beach — costumes on, hearts full — as VolunteerCleanup.org received the 2026 H2O Hero Award at the ❤️ Miami Beach Cupid Splash ❤️. It was a morning we won’t soon forget.

A New 305 Tradition Is Taking Shape

The Cupid Splash is a “pledge and plunge” fundraiser dedicated to the restoration and protection of Biscayne Bay, and this year’s event made it clear: this is becoming something truly special for our community.

This year, 85 “Cupid Splashers” from 18 teams recruited more than 200 family members, friends, followers, and fans to contribute — with donations ranging from $5 to $500. Combined with support from generous event sponsors, including the Greater Miami Convention and Visitors Bureau, The Fillmore Miami Beach at the Jackie Gleason Theater/Live Nation, The Miami Beach Convention Center, the Miami International Boat Show, and the Miami Beach Water Taxi, the event brought in a remarkable $78,249 to support the Bay, our beaches, and the sea.

That’s a tremendous leap from last year’s already impressive $50,000 raised by nearly 200 participants.

Who the Funds Support

Proceeds from the 2026 Miami Beach Cupid Splash will benefit a coalition of organizations doing critical work on the water and beyond:

  • VolunteerCleanup.org
  • Clean Miami Beach
  • Biscayne Bay Marine Health Coalition
  • Blue Scholars Initiative
  • Miami Surfrider Foundation
  • …and other local organizations and programs dedicated to our Bay and beaches.
15 Years of Protecting Biscayne Bay

For VolunteerCleanup.org, receiving the H2O Hero Award is both a humbling honor and a reminder of why this work matters. For 15 years, we’ve helped build a movement to protect Biscayne Bay, with a specific focus on marine debris — and none of it is possible without this community.

We were thrilled to share the beach that morning with local elected officials and hundreds of people who showed up simply because they care about where they live. That presence — those faces — is exactly the kind of signal that matters.

Thank You,

To everyone who donated, splashed, showed up, or spread the word: thank you. You are the reason the ❤️ Miami Beach Cupid Splash ❤️ is becoming a new annual tradition in the 305 — one that grows a little bigger, and raises a little more, each year.

Here’s to Biscayne Bay. 💙
