Clarington Island February Cleanup
Please join us at Coconut Grove Sailing Club on Saturday, February 8th for a Cleanup on Clarington Island! For more than a decade our members and volunteers from the community have been serving as stewards of this spoil island adjacent to our mooring field by removing TONS of garbage and debris that continually accumulates there. In this way, our club helps to protect the Biscayne Bay ecosystem that is home to our sailing community and a treasure for all residents of Miami to enjoy.
Check-in will happen downstairs at the club from 8:30-8:45 AM and weāll head out to the island @9:00. Wear closed toed shoes, bring your own sunblock and a reusable water bottle. We shall supply gloves (if you have your own reusable working or gardening type gloves, bring them), bags for garbage and a light lunch after we finish. Children 12 and older may participate, and community service certificates are available for students. YOU MUST REGISTER HERE to participate, and each volunteer must have a separate registration. Park either on the McFarlane Road outside the gate or in a public garage, as parking in the lot CGSC is reserved for members only. All are welcome!
