Clean Miami Beach: Japan Ocean Day Beach Cleanup

Join us for an amazing day helping protect the ocean!

A big THANK YOU to our co-host, Nobu Hotel, and to our partners: Ketel One, Esencia Wellness, Delta, William Grant Foundation, The Miami Foundation, and City of Miami Beach! This event would not be possible without our amazing co-host and partners!

Marine Day (海の日, Umi no Hi), also known as "Ocean Day" or "Sea Day", is a public holiday in Japan usually celebrated on the third Monday in July. The purpose of the holiday is to give thanks for the ocean's bounty and to consider the importance of the ocean to Japan as a maritime nation.

What is Blue Santa? A Japanese tradition when volunteers dress as blue Santa Clauses who pick up trash to give kids the gift of clean seas.

Mother Earth gives us life. Let’s protect it. The goal is to teach residents, and educate the youth of today, how everyone can reuse, re-purpose, and reduce the consumption of plastic. By growing the local volunteer community, Clean Miami Beach supports a clean place for residents, visitors, and a safe environment where our beautiful wildlife can thrive.
