Join us for an amazing day helping protect the ocean for the 41st anniversary of the International Coastal Cleanup, the world's largest, one-day volunteer effort for our oceans and waterways, and show your commitment to reducing marine debris, along with millions of volunteers from across the globe!
IMPORTANT:
– closed-toed shoes are MANDATORY
– bring your own water in a reusable bottle (no plastic please), we will have a refill station
– cleanup supplies provided such as sanitized gardening gloves, buckets, bags and pickers
– wear reef-safe sun protection incl. hat
MEETING POINT:
I-195 E, Miami, Fl 33140 (Julia Tuttle Causeway Eastbound). Leave Miami Mainland (heading towards Miami Beach), cross the first bridge, on the long stretch towards the end. LOOK FOR THE TURTLE FLAG!

PARKING:
Drive and park with absolute caution. This is a highway and we all need to be careful. There will be volunteers guiding you where to park, please follow instructions. Parking will be inside the guard rail on the grass area. There will be very limited parking, please consider carpooling or using ride share services.
Please be on time, we will start on time.

Registration below is required to participate in the cleanup. Miami-Dade’s participation, organized by Clean Miami Beach and VolunteerCleanup.org, will feature 65+ cleanups all over the county with 4,000 volunteers.
T-shirts with this year’s marine animal theme, the Humpback whale, are available for purchase. Order before August 30 if you want to guarantee your shirt arrives before the cleanup.
*Community Service hours available, must be on time!
Important details:
- Registration is required to participate in the cleanup.
- Online waivers, also required, will be emailed to you immediately after registering.
- We will provide garbage bags, gloves, and data collection cards. Community Service hours are also provided
- Please bring water in a reusable container. Let’s reduce waste and refuse single-use disposable plastic water bottles.
- Download the Ocean Conservancy’s CleanSwell app to participate in the Citizen Science activity to log, tally and measure the impact of your cleanup.
- Dress for the weather and wear appropriate footwear. Please wear close-toed shoes.
- Sunglasses, hats, and sunscreen are recommended.
- If you have your own reusable working or gardening type gloves, bring them. We will be providing gloves but cannot guarantee they will be in your size.
- Some volunteers like to use a bucket during a cleanup. Ask a local restaurant, bakery, or donut shop if they get food items in 5-gallon buckets they'd be willing to donate for your cleanup!
