Community Action Day @ Greynolds Park (2nd Saturday)
On the second Saturday of every month, volunteers can assist the Greynolds Park staff to keep our park ecosystems healthy. Depending on the park needs, volunteers may be asked to help cleanup East Greynolds Park as well.
This volunteer opportunity is made possible with the support of our community partner, JQ Foundation. JQ Foundation is a non-profit organization led by a group of young adults that focuses on sustainability and the environment. Their goal is to teach the next generation about the importance of taking care of the environment. Through community empowerment and education, they aim to protect the planet of tomorrow!
Responsibilities and Duties:
– Assessing and removing invasive plant species
– Removing garbage and debris from park grounds
– Additional tasks as needed
Qualifications: Youth under 15 must have a parent/guardian present.
Commitment Expected: Please arrive at your scheduled start time and check-in with park staff. Please bring a refillable water bottle, closed-toed shoes, and protection from the sun (sunscreen, hats, sunglasses). If you have your own gloves, we recommend bringing them. Community service hours letters will be emailed, by request, following the event.
