Laguna Madre Rookery Island and Thomae Park Cleanup

This is a joint cleanup between the Coastal Bend Bays and Estuaries Program and RGV Fishing Area and Waterway Cleanups. There will be a boat portion for which boat captains are being asked to contact Justin LeClaire at [email protected]. All other volunteers please register here. for information please contact Richard Hitchcox at 956-371-7146.

All cleanup supplies such as trash bags, trash grabbers, work gloves, nitrile gloves, sunscreen, insect repellent, waters, Gatorades, snacks, and chips will be provided. A lunch will be provided.

This cleanup will be Saturday, October 25th from 8:30am to 12:30pm at the Adolph Thomae Jr County Park in Arroyo City.Boats need to be in the water by 8:30am, and volunteers who want to get on the boats need to be at the pavilion by the boat ramp by 8:15am. Please bring shoes or boots suitable for walking in water.

What Should Volunteers Bring?

  • Hat & Sunglasses

  • Garbage Bags
  • Water Refills
  • Pickers

There are a couple of parking lots by the pavilion.
