Rickenbacker Causeway Coastal Cleanup (3rd Saturday)
On the third Saturday of every month, volunteers can assist the Causeway staff beautify this coastal park and keep our ocean ecosystem healthy. Gloves and trash bags will be provided, but volunteers are encouraged to bring their own reusable gloves to reduce waste.
This opportunity is made possible with the support of Mandarin Oriental Hotel Group. Responsibilities and Duties:
– Removing microplastics and trash along the Virginia Key South (across from MAST Academy) shoreline
– Additional tasks as needed
Qualifications: Youth under 15 must have a parent/guardian present.
Commitment Expected: Please arrive at your scheduled start time and check-in with Mandarin Oriental Hotel Group staff. Please bring a refillable water bottle, closed-toed shoes, and protection from the sun (sunscreen, hats, sunglasses). If you have your own gloves, we recommend bringing them. Community service hours letters will be emailed, by request, following the event.
