SeaKeepers Margaret Pace Park Cleanup

SeaKeepers Margaret Pace Park Cleanup

Come join SeaKeepers at Margaret Pace Park for a coastal cleanup on Saturday, December 13, from 9am-11am. Weather permitting, we will clean the whole park, including the grass, rocky shoreline, and surrounding streets. This park is located right on the edge of Biscayne Bay, where trash can enter the water, endangering local marine life.

In order to participate in the cleanup, all volunteers must complete the mandatory Liability and Appearance Release Waiver. Waiver completion is a requirement to volunteer with us, and doing the waiver ahead of time will speed the check-in process.

In celebration of the season of giving, SeaKeepers will be supporting the U.S. Marine Corps Toys for Tots drive held by one of our local DISCOVERY Vessel captains. We encourage any volunteers who are interested and able to donate a new, unwrapped toy to share the holiday spirit with children who are less fortunate. Gently used toys will also be accepted and donated to The Lotus House Women's She lter to be distributed to women and children within our community.

Volunteers should bring:

  • Close toed shoes
  • Sun protective clothing
  • Full reusable water bottle (no single-use plastics please!)
  • Hat and sunglasses

The International SeaKeepers Society supports marine science and conservation by utilizing privately owned yachts as platforms for oceanographic research, educational outreach, and marine conservation. Our efforts eliminate vessel costs and permit scientists to allocate those funds to maximize research potential. SeaKeepers shares its mission of ocean research and conservation with local communities through educational events, beach cleanups, and yachting industry functions.
