SeaKeepers Monthly Morningside Park Cleanup
Join SeaKeepers for our monthly cleanup at Morningside Park on Saturday, December 14, 2024! Weather permitting, we will clean up the grassy area of the park, excluding the rocky shoreline, which is closed for construction. Morningside Park borders Biscayne Bay, and by keeping this park clean we can prevent further pollution to our ocean. Please scroll down and RSVP to join.
All volunteers must complete the required Liability and Appearance Release Waiver HERE.
VOLUNTEER INFORMATION:
Meeting spot: Look for the blue SeaKeepers branded table and tent next to Morningside Watersports on the left as you enter the park. When you arrive, please scan the QR code or speak to a SeaKeeper to check in. After a brief safety and instructional briefing, we will get you your gear!
Parking: Free parking is available throughout the park, with the closest lot being Lot 7 in front of Morningside Watersports.
Please bring:
Close-toe shoes
Comfortable clothes that may get dirty
Water in a REUSABLE water bottle (no plastic please!)
Sunscreen and bug spray if needed
Hat and sunglasses if wanted
We will provide:
Buckets
Reusable mesh bags
Gloves
Water refills
Community service hours
Marine Debris Tracker: By using the app Marine Debris Tracker, you can log the types of trash you collect and create important data for scientists and lawmakers to better understand the marine debris crisis. This data can lead to legislation such as plastic bans that will keep our ocean cleaner! Make sure to create an account ahead of time and select “The International SeaKeepers Society” as an organization before you start logging. By using the Marine Debris Tracker, you are eligible for 1 extra community service hour.

The International SeaKeepers Society supports marine science and conservation by utilizing privately owned yachts as platforms for oceanographic research, educational outreach, and marine conservation. Our efforts eliminate vessel costs and permit scientists to allocate those funds to maximize research potential. SeaKeepers shares its mission of ocean research and conservation with local communities through educational events, beach cleanups, and yachting industry functions.
