Senior Skip Day 'Keep the Beach Clean' Engagement
Join us in a 'Keep the Beach Clean' engagement where we will kindly remind High School Seniors that are skipping class on 'Senior Skip Day' (February 28th, which is also National Pancake Day) to put their trash in the can, and not the sand. This event is being hosted in partnership with our friends at City of Miami Beach Environment and Sustainability as part of a generous grant. We will be working in teams of 4-5 as walking billboards using signs with positive messaging, handing out bio-degradable garbage bags to those with a mess around them, and a small cleanup crew patrolling the waterline to protect the ocean. We've done this in past Spring Breaks, and it works really well. You don't need to stay for the entire shift if you cannot, and we might alter the meeting point and schedule as we find out more details about when the students typically show up, but we expect it will be a gorgeous beach day.!. We will bring all the supplies, and you wear comfortable clothes for taking a walk on the sand and bring a smile and positive attitude. Meet in behind Smith & Wollensky (on the boardwalk side, South Pointe Park area). If you are late, come find us on the beach (we'll be holding signs shown in the picture below). 2 Shifts Available (pick your shift by selecting the appropriate ticket below): 1-3pm 4-6pm
