The Monthly Fort Lauderdale Beach Sweep

20 20 people viewed this event.

The Fort Lauderdale Beach Sweep takes place every second Saturday of the month from 8 am – 11 am at Las Olas Blvd and A1A.  You can join us any month you like.  If you are part of a group just let us know how many attendees you expect.  For groups we can set up tents and tables.  We provide pickers and buckets for the cleanup.

We provide Community Service Hours.

The Fort Lauderdale Beach Sweep together with The City of Fort Lauderdale Neighbor Volunteer Office, and the Rotary Community Corps sponsors this monthly event To Keep Fort Lauderdale Beach Beautiful And Protect The Local Wild Life!

The City of Fort Lauderdale Parks and Recreation Department is doing an awesome job at keeping our beaches in pristine condition. Their equipment does not pick up small items such as cigarette butts, can tabs, and bottle caps.  Volunteers typically collect 100 pounds of trash, 25 pounds of recyclables and 7,000 cigarette butts.  You can help protect our jewel of Fort Lauderdale Beach and local wild life by removing these serious threats to sea gulls, turtles …our beach and ocean environment.

Volunteers meet and register at 300 S Fort Lauderdale Beach Boulevard, where East Las Olas Blvd. meets the beach.  There is volunteer parking at the Las Olas Garage, 200 Las Olas Circle (Las Olas and the east side of the Intracoastal Waterway) ON THE 3rd FLOOR ONLY, UNTIL NOON.  Cars will be ticketed with no recourse if parking instructions are not exactly followed.
