A “Trashathon” is an innovative twist on the classic “a-thons” fundraisers where participants solicit pledges for trash removal from neighborhoods or shorelines to raise money for their group or project while also spreading awareness about the marine debris crisis and solutions that each of us can take.
Trashathon.Org is a free online fundraising platform that helps you manage every aspect of your a-thon in one place. Easily add participants, track donations, & add updates for your donors. Effortlessly boost your pledges with social sharing, campaign email, our embeddable widget, and mobile giving.
When your cleanup is finished, you enter the number of pounds collected and the platform automatically charges your donors.
- SCHOOL GROUPS can raise money for sustainability projects (ie, water bottle refill stations), needed materials or class trips
- NON-PROFITS can raise money for capacity building, material support or to fund specific programs
- INDIVIDUALS, FRIEND GROUPS or INFORMAL CLUBS can raise money without being an official non-profit.
